CHESSMAN John Arick

 On September 12, 2008. Age 67. Of Gloucester City. Loving husband of 11 years to the late Antoniette M. Chessman (nee Jawor). Loving and devoted father of Jack A. (Bernadette) Chessman of West Deptford. Loving grandfather of John A. Chessman, III. John_arick_chessman Dear brother of Diane L. (William) White of Gloucester City. Predeceased by his brother Joseph (surviving wife Joan) Chessman of Woodbury Heights. Beloved uncle of Tammy (Anthony) Diodati and Jason (Heather) Chessman. Great-uncle of Kaila, Krista, Kasey and Joseph. 

John was born and raised in Gloucester City. He worked as a letter carrier in Gloucester City for over 27 years. John proudly served our country during Vietnam in the U.S. Navy and retired with 23 years of service. John was a proud member of the American Legion Post 72 in Brooklawn, Townsend C. Young V.F.W Post 3620 in Gloucester City, Sportsmen A.C., NRA and the Tin Can Sailors.

Relatives, friends and members of all John’s organizations are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm where a VFW and American Legion Military Service will be at 7:30 pm and Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 am at McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Methodist Service 11 am in the funeral home officiated by Pastor Glenn J. Conaway of Trinity United Methodist in Mullica Hill.
