Kevin Nolan, the Gloucester Catholic High School swimming coach, and nine others each gave a vote to some stellar athletes that eventually shared a not-so-memorable third place.

Nolan's vote stuck out a bit more than others when looking back.

Why?

He voted for Michael Phelps.

"He proved me right," said Nolan.
