CAMDEN, N.J., Aug 28, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The notion of 'tackling' is nothing new to a football mom, but the moms of 35 NFL players are giving tackling a whole new meaning this football season. The Professional Football Player's Mothers Association (PFPMA) is teaming up with the Campbell's Chunky/NFL Tackling Hunger(R) program and Feeding America, (formerly known as America's Second Harvest) the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, to tackle a big issue -- the nation's hunger. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, hunger affects more than 38 million Americans. To help fight this national problem, 35 moms from the PFPMA are taking part in the "NFL Moms Tackling Hunger with Chunky Soup" program, a friendly competition among moms of NFL players, where they'll strive to raise as many food donations as possible for their local communities.
