Active-duty troops can enjoy free admission to any American Legion Baseball game at its upcoming Senior State Tournament in Washington state. The event, Aug. 2-6, includes 15 games played among top Legion teams at Heidelberg-Davis Park in Tacoma. The final championship game will be at nearby Cheney Stadium, home of the Seattle Mariners' AAA minor-league team, the Tacoma Rainiers.
"We decided to do this as a way to link American Legion Baseball to our troops serving overseas," says Don Hays, the state's chairman for American Legion Baseball. "We wanted to make a stronger connection between our kids, our families and the servicemembers."
