Striped bass have not left the area.
Dave Showell, a fishing guide and owner of Absecon Bay Sportsman Center, caught them on Thursday inside Absecon Inlet. According to Ray Slemmer at Absecon Bay S.C., Showell took a husband and wife out on a charter and had five keepers and 30 throwbacks.
Showell was fishing in the usual spots at Mankiller, Little Panama and ICW 138. He started them out using live spot, which had been the hot way to fish off Absecon and behind Brigantine, but snagged some adult bunker and used them to catch five of the keepers.
