Attention Gloucester City Residents: Blue Ridge Mt. Vacation Offer for your child
Monday, June 30, 2008
Hello,
My name is Walter Sturmfels I was raised in Gloucester City and
some of my family is still living there.
One of my fondest memories as a child in Gloucester City was the Atco Lake day. It cost nothing; you were given free soda and a hoagie along with the bus ride. I will never forget the great times we had boarding the buses at the old Dixie bar on Burlington Street. Moonie Ridge paid for the entire trip.

I now own a small farm in Virginia and would like to
invite one
child for one week to come and stay with my family. We live next to the Blue
Ridge Mountains.(photo)
We raise cows, have a pool in the yard, pool table and pinball in
the rec room (full size) and enjoy Smith Mountain Lake and fishing.
I think it would be great for any child growing up in Gloucester
City to see the other side of life, out in the country. When I was young we
rode horses on Browning Road & Bell Road in Bellmawr for 25
cents...........the times have changed.
We would prefer someone who is in need or comes from a large
family. This would be a once in a lifetime week in Virginia.
We are planning on doing this in the month of July. You can
contact us by phone 434-845-3261 or email [email protected].
We look forward to doing this every year. And in some small way
helping a child from Gloucester City have a once in a lifetime stay on our farm.
Respectfully,
Walter & Yvonne Sturmfels
