Pitman, NJ…The College of New Jersey men’s basketball team had one of its players named to the 2007-2008 New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Star Team on Thursday as senior co-captain  Mark Aziz, photo,  (Hackettstown, NJ/West Morris Central) earned his second straight posting on the Honorable Mention Team.
On the year, Aziz helped the Lions as the team’s top scorer with a 14.2 ppg average in 25 games played.  He finished the campaign ranking seventh in the NJAC in scoring. He is ranked in the top 10 in rebounding, grabbing 5.8 boards a contest. Those aren’t the only categories he ranks in, as he is sixth in blocked shots (1.08 bpg), sixth in free-throw percentage (76.6%) and 13th in field-goal percentage (47.1%).
On the season, Aziz finished with double-digit scoring performance on 21 different occasions, while leading the Lions in scoring 10 different times this past season. Overall on his career, Aziz started 51 of 76 games played, adding 815 points with 341 rebounds, 77 blocked shots and posted an impressive 74.2% (170-229) free throw percentage and a 47.5% (310-652) effort from the floor.
