Memorial Services February 28th for retired Gloucester City High School Teacher Tom Gurchick

A Memorial service for Thomas W. Gurchick, 65, of Gloucester City will be held Thursday, February 28, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Etherington Creran Funeral Home, 700 Powell Street, Gloucester City.
Mr. Gurchick died suddenly on Friday, February 15th when he lost control of his car and hit a tree near the corner of Morris Street and and Johnson Blvd. when the car he was driving struck a tree at the corner of Morris Street and Johnson Blvd.
Tom was a long time and beloved teacher at the Gloucester City Jr. High School, where he taught Science from 1965 until his retirement in 1999. He was also a past member of the South Jersey Orchid Society, was an avid fisherman and model airplane builder
Loving brother of Betty M. Gurchick of Gloucester City, the late Paul J. Gurchick and his wife Mary of Tampa, FL, Michael T. Gurcik, Sr. and his wife Cass of Sicklerville, Florence M. Gurchick of NYC, NY, George F. Gurchick, Sr. and his wife Anna of Somerdale, James S. Gurcik and his wife Frances of Brooklawn and A. Richard Gurchick of NYC, NY. He was also the dear uncle of numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. .
Catholic Prayer Services will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday evening at 8 pm.
Inurnment in New St. Mary's Cemetery will be private at the request of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in Tom's name be made to St. Mary's Special Fund, c/o Sr. Mary Ryan, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030.
