KEAN REPEATS AS 2008 NJAC CHAMPIONSHIP BEATING TCNJ 70-61 ; COUGARS EARN NCAA AUTOMATIC BID

Media Release Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey women’s basketball team hosted the Cougars of Kean University in the championship game of the 2008 New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament in Packer Hall on Friday evening before a crowd of a thousand. Kean would repeat as the league’s champions, earning the program’s 12th title since winning the league’s first championship in 1982-1983. ROWAN INDOOR TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT NYU FAST TRACK INVITATIONAL

NEW YORK, NY – The Rowan University men's and women's indoor track teams competed New York University Fast Track Invitational on Friday. The individual competition was held at the Armory in New York, NY. Kyle Hayes (fr. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) finished ninth in the long jump with a distance of 22' 0.75" (6.72 meters). For the women, Allison Catenacci (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) took 27th place with a time of 1:23.63. TCNJ WOMEN’S LACROSSE TEAM RANKED THIRD IN DIVISION III POLL

Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey women’s lacrosse team will open the 2008 campaign ranked third in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Pre-season Poll. The Lions received 348 votes with one of them being a first-place vote. The defending national champion Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall College are ranked in the top spot with 397 points with 17 first-place votes. Salisbury University is second with 361 votes followed by the Lions. Gettysburg College and Middlebury College round out the top five.
