GLOUCESTER- A 14-0 lead wasn't enough to hold off the Gloucester Catholic High School football team as it came back to defeat Gloucester, 31-14, in their annual inter-city Thanksgiving Day rivalry game Thursday.
The retaliation started late in the second quarter with an interception by Mike Koehler at the Rams 49-yard line. Catholic worked its way down the field behind the rushing of Pat Schuhl. On fourth-and-12, Calzonetti completed a 25-yard touchdown pass to George Spingler to put Catholic on the board with 3:38 left in the half.
Then with six seconds left, Nick Ciocco kicked a 44-yard field goal to cut the deficit to three at halftime. When the Rams walked on the field in the second half, there was no looking back. see complete story Rams Ready for State Playoffs Saturday
