Elizabeth K. “Bette” Pond; Gloucester City Community Volunteer

On December 13, 2006. Age 86. (nee Thompson) Of Gloucester City. Loving wife of the late Harry G. Pond. Surrounded and cared for by her devoted children: Edwin L. (Lori) of Williamstown, Kristine Light (David) of Gloucester City, Victoria Sanderson (Charles) of Gloucester City, Lisa Long of West Deptford and Susan Carsillo of Collingswood. Beloved grandmother of Christopher, Jeremy, Laura, Kati, Megan, MollyAnne, Dave, Chalie, Jeffrey, Jared, Eric, Steve, Tim, Harrison, Mitchell, Courtney and the late Vicki Lynn Sanderson. Loving great-grandmother of 7. Dear Sister of Trudy Martin (Howard) of New Hampshire.

Elizabeth was known as “Bette” and was a devoted parishioner of Saint Mary’s R.C. Church in Gloucester City and served as secretary for Saint Mary’s School PTA for many years. She was a volunteer for the Gloucester City High School PTA and served as Prom Chairperson for many years. Bette was a believer in helping in the community and served on various committees in Gloucester City.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her viewing on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 am at McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, (at Atlantic Street) Gloucester City. Interment New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. There will be no evening viewing.

Family requests that memorial donations be made in Bette’s memory to Saint John of God School: 1145 Delsea Drive, Westville Grove, NJ 08093.
