Inferno in Gloucester City

Pirates Den Destroyed By Fire

- A popular restaurant is in ruins this morning after an overnight inferno that sent 2 people to the hospital.

The fire started at the Pirates Den Bar and Restaurant just after 12:30 a.m. The restaurant is on the 300 block of North Broadway and is owned by Brian Cohan.  It was formerly known as Ferry's Seafood Restaurant.

A firefighter who helped extinguish the three-alarm fire was hospitalized. A person inside the building was also taken to the hospital. He suffered from smoke inhalation.

It took crews more than two hours to get the scene under control. They still do not know how the fire started
