Gloucester City High School Student Arrested For Possession of A Pellet Gun and Illicit Drugs

Linda Lathrop, public information officer for the Gloucester City Public School  District has confirmed the rumor that a student was arrested yesterday at Gloucester City High School for possession of a pellet gun. Lathrop said it was discovered that the student also had in his possession illicit drugs.

Lathrop said, "the student discharged a pellet from the gun but no one was harmed. He was taken into custody by school security. The police were called. And the student was arrested and removed from the building."

A board member said  the system in place for such an occurrence worked. Another student saw the suspect with the weapon. She immediately notified school security and he was taken into custody.
