WHEN EAST MEETS WEST
WHAT A CONCIDENCE!
Commentary by Hank Miller Jr.
Hank was born and raised in Gloucester City, NJ. He now lives with his family in Japan</strong>
We received a telephone call from our son Private Lucas K Miller, whose
undergoing basic training at Fort Lenard Wood, Missouri.
During the conversation he mentioned that he'll be going back to
Honolulu, Hawaii for the holidays to see his girl friend.
Then he mentioned that he met a few guys from Jersey and one of them
just happens to be from Gloucester City, NJ.
The soldiers’ name he said is a Private Waddington I think it's spelled the
right way?
And there is another soldier from Woodbury NJ near where Lucas went to
High School at Gateway. This is ironic because Lucas left Jersey a long time ago and he was only there living with my sister Rosemarie Miller Collins in Westville a few years.
He's been living and working in the Great North West Beaverton, Oregon,
Honolulu, Hawaii and his home is here in Japan.
What a surprising meeting and a small world it has become indeed, so
Gloucester is not so far away after all.Does any one remember Tiny Waddington I do from when I was a kid in
Gloucester growing up there? Could this soldier be a relative Of Tiny Waddington???WOW!!!
Warm Regards from Kitakyushu City, Japan
MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!Hank & Keiko, the Miller Family
