According to Dayl Baile, Lions Club President, the action was taken because vandals had continually destroyed the gazebo over the past several years. The structure was erected, using pressure treated wood, in 1998 by volunteers from the Lions Club. The public also contributed funds for memorial bricks. Photos and caption by Bill Cleary Gloucester City-Since December 12 the U.S. Coast Guard has been storing several 50 gallon drums that contain oily contaminated debris at the Proprietors Park Marina, King Street and the Delaware River. What is contained in the large dumpster that is sitting next to the drums is unknown as it is not marked. Gloucester City High School Student Arrested For Possession of A Pellet Gun and Illicit Drugs Linda Lathrop, public information officer for the Gloucester City Public School District has confirmed the rumor that a student was arrested yesterday at Gloucester City High School for possession of a pellet gun. State toughens Megan's Law; Gloucester City Council adopts rules for sex offenders living here Penalties for violating New Jersey's sex offender registration law would be toughened under legislation approved Monday December 11 by the Assembly. The Assembly voted 80-0 to approve the bill, which had previously been approved by the Senate. Sewer Main Break In Gloucester City Photo and caption by Bill Cleary Monday December 11-Gloucester City workers along with employees from Mount Construction were busy on Monday repairing a sewer main break at the intersection of 6th and Jersey Avenue. Because of the construction traffic from Broadway and Jersey Avenue to King Street and Jersey Avenue was limited to local traffic only. It was not known how long it would take to repair the problem.
