Rabid Cat
In Westville
Two People Bitten

The Gloucester County health Department reported on Friday August 4, that two Westville residents were bitten by a cat that tested positive for rabies.

The department is warning residents that other animals could be infected and are asking residents to report any abnormal behavior by wild or domestic animals.

According to a spokesperson for the health department a number of bats and raccoons have tested positive for rabies in recent months.

County health officials said the infected cat was captured in Deptford Township and euthanized.
