94 Student-Athletes Named to Assumption College Football Team
WORCESTER, MA (09/20/2018)-- The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that 94 student-athletes have earned a spot on the 2018 Assumption College Football team. Local students include:
Keelan Borguet of Franklinville (08322), Class of 2022
Joseph Kellum of Mount Laurel (08054), Class of 2022
Matthew Ringstaff of Sicklerville (08081), Class of 2021
Following a third straight NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in 2017, the Assumption football team was picked first in the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Poll and ranked 20th in the national DII preseason poll. Last season, the Greyhounds went 11-2 and were the NE10 Champions. They are hoping to build upon their success under the eye of new head coach, Andy McKenzie.
"Throughout preseason camp, the upperclassmen set the tone with great leadership, energy, enthusiasm, and intensity in practice; we all have high expectations of each other" said Andy McKenzie. "Furthermore, as the school year gets started, our team is also preparing to be the best student-athletes possible, and we will be engaged and make a positive contribution to the campus community as a whole."
