GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (January 12, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--As a result of the snow and icy weather Gloucester City Police Officers were kept busy last week with a number of motor vehicles accidents. Between the dates of January 5 and January 11, according to the weekly crime report, city police investigated 23 traffic accidents. Those incidents were marked below by CNBNews with an asterisk*.
From the crime report:
1/5 (12:24 am) A resident of Cedarwood Avenue reported that a security camera was stolen from the front of his residence. The investigation is ongoing.
*1/5 (4:05 am) Ptl. John Bryszewski responded to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
1/5 (11:15 am) Officers responded to Vitale’s Restaurant on 9th. Street for a reported fire. Upon arrival, flames were observed coming from the roof of the building. GCFD personnel responded as well as area fire department personnel and extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported.
1/5 (3:20 pm) Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz responded to the Liquor Barn on Rt. 130 for a reported shoplifting. The owner reported a male left the store with a bottle of liquor without paying. Surveillance video of the male was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.
*1/5 (3:05 pm) Ptl. George Spingler responded to the 500 block of Paul Street for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
*1/5 (5:46 pm) Ptl. Brittany Pollander responded to Holt Logistics for a M.V. crash involving two trucks. No injuries were reported.
*1/6 (7:05 am) Ptl. George Spingler responded to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a M.V. crash involving one vehicle. One injury was reported.
1/6 (9:10 pm) A vehicle stop on Railroad Avenue at Mercer Street conducted by Ptl. Bob Saunders III resulted in the arrest of Patricia G. Fisher (32), a resident of the 800 block of Little Somerset Street. She was arrested on a warrant from Cinnaminson and later released on bail.
*1/7 (2:25 am) Ptl. Robert Saunders responded to Baynes Avenue for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles where a parked car was struck. No injuries were reported.
*1/7 (1:18 pm) Ptl. George Spingler responded to Rt. 130 at Klemm Avenue for a hit and run M.V. crash involving three vehicles. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
*1/7 (2:06 pm) Cpl. Bill Johnson responded to Rt. 130 at Klemm Avenue for a M.V. crash involving three vehicles. No injuries were reported.
*1/8 (7:46 am) Ptl. Greg Coxe responded to Rt. 130 at Klemm Avenue for a M.V. crash involving a school bus and a tractor trailer. No injuries were reported.
*1/8 (8:00 am) Ptl. John Bryszewski responded to E. Brown Street at Frances for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
*1/8 (10:02 am) Ptl. John Bryszewski responded to the 400 block of S. Broadway for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
*1/8 (10:02 am) Ptl. Greg Coxe responded to the 1400 block of Rt. 130 south for a M.V. crash involving one vehicle. One injury was reported.
1/8 (11:55 am) A vehicle stop on Market Street at Westminster conducted by Ptl. John Bryszewski resulted in the arrest of Giovanna A. Paparo (28), a resident of Deptford Twp. She was arrested on warrants from Camden County and additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe. She was remanded to Camden County Jail after failing to post bail.
1/9 (12:09 am) A resident of the 300 block of N. Burlington Street reported the front license plate on her car was stolen sometime during the evening. The investigation is ongoing.
*1/9 (12:19 am) Ptl. Shea O’Donnell responded to the 700 block of Powell Street for a hit and run M.V. crash involving two vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.
*1/9 (12:32 am) Ptl. Ben McKinney responded to 3rd. Street at Powell for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
1/9 (1:37 am) A resident of N. Filmore Street reported he observed two males pulling on the door handles on his truck. He yelled at the males and they fled from the area. A search of the area for the males was unsuccessful.
1/9 (6:40 am) A resident of the 100 block of N. Broadway reported sometime overnight, her unlocked vehicle was burglarized and personal property was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
*1/9 (9:55 am) Ptl. Greg Coxe responded to Burlington Street at Monmouth Street for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
1/9 (11:23 am) A resident of the 400 block of Middlesex Street reported sometime overnight, her unlocked vehicle was burglarized and personal property was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
*1/9 (1:30 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III and Keith Wall responded to Chestnut Avenue for a M.V. crash involving one vehicle. No injuries were reported.
*1/9 (4:12 pm) Ptl. Tim Ryder responded to Rt. 130 at Klemm Avenue for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
1/9 (6:47 pm) Ptl. Bob Saunders III responded to a residence in the 400 block of Middlesex Street for a reported overdose. Upon arrival, the (26) year old male resident of the 400 block of Middlesex Street was found unconscious and not breathing. Ptl. Saunders III administered one dose of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
*1/9 (7:10 pm) Ptl. Ben McKinney responded to the 500 block of Paul Street for a hit and run M.V. crash where a parked car was struck. The investigation is ongoing.
*1/10 (8:35 am) Ptl. George Spingler responded to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a hit and run M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
*1/10 (12:31 pm) Cpl. Bill Johnson responded to the parking lot of P & B Beauty School for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
1/11 (11:11 am) Ptl. George Spingler responded to the Budget Motel on Rt. 130 for a reported overdose. Upon arrival, the (24) year old male Woodbury resident was found unconscious and not breathing. EMS personnel administered one dose of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness. He refused further medical treatment.
1/11 (2:04 pm) Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of N. King Street for a report of a male reported to be armed with a gun and holding family members against their will. Further investigation determined that there was no weapon involved and the male was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
*1/11 (3:02 pm) Ptl. George Spingler responded to Rt. 130 at Marlborough Avenue for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
*1/11 (3:16 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland and Sean Saunders responded to Market Street at Washington for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
*1/11 (3:25 pm) Sgt. Bill Johnson Jr. responded to the 300 block of Warrant Street for a M.V. crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.
1/11 (3:52 pm) Det. Keith O’Donnell stopped a male on Passaic Street at the railroad for trespassing. While placing the male under arrest, the male refused to remove his hand from his pocket and proceeded to physically resist arrest. The male was taken to the ground where he was handcuffed without further incident. Joseph M. Stranahan (26), a resident of Bellmawr, was charged with Possession of CDS (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe, resisting arrest and defiant trespass. He was later released.
1/11 (4:13 pm) While on patrol, Ptl. Tim Ryder and Sgt. Ken Iepson arrested the following individuals on N. Broadway at Passaic Street for defiant trespass: Francis X. Storms (24), a resident of the 200 block of Cumberland Street was additionally charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and later released. Colleen D. McCloskey (24), a resident of Laurel Springs, was additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin) and possession of hypodermic syringes. She was later released.
1/11 (4:34 pm) Michael A. Draper (27), a resident of the 300 block of S. Broadway, was arrested in the 500 block of Paul Street by Ptl. Sean Gartland and Sean Saunders. He was arrested on warrants from Gloucester City, Camden City, and Cinnaminson. He was additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin) and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was later released on bail.
1/11 (9:00 pm) A pedestrian stop on Broadway at Essex Street conducted by Cpl. Bill Lessig resulted in the arrest of Robert C. Hunter Jr. (44), a resident of the 300 block of N. Broadway. He was arrested on a warrant from Gloucester City and later released on bail.
1/11 (9:55 pm) A pedestrian stop on N. Broadway at Essex Street conducted by Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz resulted in the arrest of Kendrick Jackson (30), a resident of Westville. He was arrested on a warrant from Deptford Twp. and later released on bail.
*1/11 (10:46 pm) Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz responded to N. Brown Street at Chambers for a hit and run M.V. crash involving three vehicles. No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
In addition, officers conducted (18) traffic stops, (138) property/business checks and (7) school visits. Officers made (12) arrests and responded to (11) domestic disputes. Officers issued (12) criminal charges, (15) traffic citations and managed (274) calls for service between January 5th.
