The Camden County Historical Society will host a free genealogy program entitled “Speed up Your Search and Find Your Ancestors Faster” presented by Professional Genealogist Dawn Carson on Sunday, April 23rd at 2pm.
Finding the records you want is a goal for all genealogists. In this lecture, Camden County Historical Society Volunteer Genealogist Dawn Carson will introduce you to some of the tried and true methods and techniques genealogists use to get better search results. We’ll explore online searches as well as onsite techniques.
Dawn is a professional genealogical researcher and instructor at heart who specializes in the Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Southern New Jersey regions of the United States. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) and the APG Greater Philadelphia Area Chapter. She holds a certificate in genealogical research from Boston University and is a member of ProGen 24. She is a volunteer genealogist at the Camden County Historical Society, Camden County, NJ and an instructor for the Cherry Hill Recreation Department, Cherry Hill, NJ where she teaches a genealogy course titled Uncovering Your Family History.
The Camden County Historical Society is located at 1900 Park Boulevard, Camden NJ 08103. The site includes a research library in addition to Historic Pomona Hall and the Camden County Museum, and is regularly open Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Sunday 12-3pm, with a $5 admission fee for nonmembers.
