PHILADELPHIA PA (February 8, 2017) Defendant Sreang Po (hereinafter Po) pleaded guilty in open U.S. Court, Eastern District, Pennsylvania this morning. She acknowledged her wrongdoing and expressed to the court that she wished to plead guilty to the charges against her. Po was previously charged with Conspiracy to defraud the government and willful failure to collect and pay over taxes.
From 2007 through 2008, Po and her co-conspirator, Moni Son, were corporate officers of Asian American Labor Connection, an employee leasing corporation located in Philadelphia. As corporate officers of Asian American Labor Connection, Po and Son were required to collect and remit, on a quarterly basis, Federal Insurance Contribution Act (FICA) taxes to the Internal Revenue Service arising from the wages that they paid their employees. During 2007 and 2008, Po and Son failed to report over $1.3 million in taxable wages.
Po is scheduled to be sentenced on May 8, 2017, at 1 pm before the Honorable C. Darnell Jones II.
