GLOUCESTER CITY N.J. (October 10, 2016)--Lifelong resident George Spingler, was sworn in as a Gloucester City police officer at the September 22, 2016, council meeting by Gloucester City Mayor William James. Looking on are members of his family.
Officer Spingler is a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School. Prior to joining the Gloucester City Police Department, he served as a police officer with the Camden County Police Department since 2015.
With the addition of Spingler the GCPD total force is 28 officers. In August, Lt. Steve Burkhardt said, "We are currently working on returning back to our full staffing of 31 officers.”
Burkhardt said there are now 18 patrolmen, five sergeants (four patrol sergeants and one detective sergeant), two detectives, two lieutenants and one chief.
The Gloucester City Police Department wishes Officer Spingler luck and success as he continues his career in law enforcement.
