(CNBNEWSNET)( September 19, 2016)--The Pee Wee Mustangs had two games this week and they're continuing to make progress. On Wednesday, they hosted the Lindenwold Lions. The Mustangs would score early and often en route to a 26-0 win over the visiting Lions.
Tommy George scores 2 TDs and Ryan Garrison added an extra point for the Mustangs. Aiden Johnson had a TD and an extra point, and Brad Exley added a rushing TD to round out the scoring. On Saturday, the Pee Wees hosted the Collingswood Panthers. The Mustangs were shorthanded only having 12 kids because of a few out of town for the weekend, but those kids battled in a close game 19-13. Aiden Johnson scored a rushing TD and a defensive TD for the Mustangs. The highlight of the game was when Johnson took the handoff from the Collingswood quarterback and raced 70 yards the other way for a Mustangs TD.
The Freshmen Mustangs continue their pursuit of a playoff berth with a big win over the Delran Bears. Jayson Nelson is a special player to watch. Nelson scored 4 TDs, had an extra pt run and catch, and a number of tackles out of his safety position. Xyere Brooks also added 2 TDs. Julius Piliro-Crawley had an extra point run and pass. The defense played great with Rocco Randazzo, Anthony Nelson, RJ Curran, and Alex Ekimoglou helping clog up the running lanes.
The Sophomores Mustangs suffered a tough 7-0 loss to the Delran Bears on Saturday. The defense played great holding the Bears to just 1 TD, which they scored with just 30 secs left in the first half on a 4th down run. Jahmeer Johnson and Ryan Malone led the offense for the Mustangs, but they could put a drive together that would end in points.
The Juniors Mustangs stayed undefeated with a 27-6 win over the Delran Bears. Jacob Zearfoss scored 2 rush TDs and a pick 6 on defense for the Mustangs. John Daily added two INTs, one of which he took to the house for a TD. The DL behind Justice Dolson, Kaleb Wright, Jack Radlinger, Nate Moore, Leo Curran, and Derek Levins played great shutting down the run in the 2nd half and filling in for the injured Charlie Grady. John Daily also added 2 extra point receptions and 3 big first down catches from QB - Colin Frazer, who also ran in an extra point conversion.
The Seniors Mustangs also stayed undefeated with a 26-7 win over Delran. The Mustangs were nodded at 7-7 in the 3rd quarter when #24 Charles Lopez decided to take over the game. Lopez took a carry up the middle for 50 yds in the 3rd quarter then scored 2 more TDs in the 4th quarter including a pick 6 INT return. Chris Dolson scored the Mustangs first TD with a great catch and run over 60 yards. Damian Dolson threw the TD and added an extra point run and pass to Adrian Delgado. The Mustangs defense played great led by Matt Camp and a host of Mustangs flying around making plays. Keep up the good work boys!!
In JV action, the Sophomores JV started off the season 2-0 with a 13-0 win over Paulsboro and 25-0 win over Delran. Gavin Zane had 2 TDs and Stevie Canning added another for the Sophs in the win over Delran. The defense played great in the two shutout wins. The Juniors JV had a big win on Sunday vs. the Haddonfield Bulldogs. Joey MacDonald led the Mustangs Juniors with 4 TDs in all. MacDonald threw 2 TD passes to Justin Frazer and another to Jeffrey Torres. He scored his 4th TD on a 35 yd bootleg around the end. The defense led by LBs Aiden Daily, Christian Butter, Jaymeson McGlinsey and safety Matt Pierce pitched their first shutout of the season.
