
John Bicking
AGE: 77 • Gloucester City
Our Lord took John Bicking to his bosom on April 3, 2012 after a long illness following a stroke in August of 2008. John was born to Thelma and Joseph Bicking on June 4, 1934 in Gloucester City, New Jersey. He went to Gloucester Catholic High where he met his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn Alkis.
Legacy
A few years after graduation from Fordham University, John and two partners, Jack Warner and Bill Fenwick, started a successful advertising agency in Manhattan. John and Marylyn retired in Moab, Utah where they rehabilitated birds of prey for eleven years before moving to Tucson, Arizona. John excelled in photography, liked to travel (last 2 trips were to eat and drink in Paris) was an avid New York Yankees fan, watching every game on DirecTV.
Family
Parents and grandparents preceded him in death and he leaves his beloved wife, Marilyn, brother Donald, Sr. (Maria), niece, Deborah Byers and her children, Stephen and Abigail, nephews, Donald, Jr. (Karen) and their children, Hannah and Tabitha and Frank (Lisa) and their daughter Samantha; also sister-in-law, Marie and her children and grandchildren
Farewell Services
Viewing will be held on Monday evening, 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street Woodbury, NJ. Funeral Mass Tuesday, 10:30 AM at St. Mary's RC Church, 426 Monmouth Street Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Interment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
