GLOUCESTER CITY-Marika Dutot made the decision to name her unique therapeutic center as “Back to Front” based on the term used by professional massage therapists when they have completed treating one side of your body and then request the customer to turn over from “Back to Front.”
Marika, a holistic body practitioner professional, has established herself at her waterfront location and looks forward to continued improvements in the area. “I love being here and am excited to be part of the revitalization of the city,” said Marika, who came to America some 20 years ago from New Zealand.
According to the engaging gentle young lady, sometimes people are not even aware of the stresses on their whole body.
CranioSacral Therapy is one of the techniques used by the therapist to encourage the natural healing mechanisms that dissipate the negative effects of stress on the central nervous system.
It allows muscles to retain their memory, helps in the recovery after suffering whiplash, TMJ afflictions, migraines, etc. by releasing switches in the cranium to allow nutrients to flow through the entire body.
The therapy is performed on a fully clothed person using a light finger and hand touch, generally no more than the weight of a nickel, to release problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the brain and spinal cord, resulting in a body that is able to return to its greatest level of performance.
Another therapy is the Reiki method which succeeds in getting energy to move through the body.
Marika said the method is very peaceful and calming and useful in treating a chronically ill person.
The light touch is intended to take away the pain and sometimes the method is so relaxing, the person may fall asleep for a short time.
“I leave them relax a short while and then gently knock on the room door to wake them,” Marika said.
Just recently, a very ill woman said that the second day after the therapy she felt energized and wanted to continue her housework duties, something she had no energy for earlier.
Mirika is still pursuing her studies in the medical field and is presently studying for a managerial nursing certificate that will allow her to practice pediatric cranial nutritional response testing on children.
Calming, private rooms are used for all therapies including “Thai.” Massaging and stretching are some of the methods used in the Thai therapy helping to relieve pain from back, shoulders and other areas.
Isagenix products such as energy shakes, minerals and vitamins and oils are available for purchase at Back to Front. A special offer for therapy treatment will be available for the holidays, and will make a terrific gift for any man or woman.
