Eleanor M. “Lee”
On April 6, 2009 due to congestive heart failure. (Nee Tanier) Age 73, Born July 16, 1935 at Cooper Hospital in Camden NJ to George B. Tanier and Ida Godshall Tanier-Morton. Survived by her sister Pauline Davis of Audubon NJ and her family as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and “greats” that she dearly loved. She was predeceased by a brother; George B. Tanier Jr.
Lee was raised in Gloucester City NJ. Following her graduation from Gloucester City High School in 1953 Lee joined the United States Navy. She left the Navy to enter into a brief marriage to George I. Hedge (since deceased). Lee grew in faith at the Center for Conscious Living in Moorestown, NJ. Prior to her illness Lee had been an active volunteer with “The Hunger Project”, an organization dedicated to the eradication of world hunger. Lee’s heart was in California where she spent 22 years of her life.
In accordance with her wishes the family plans to release her ashes into the Pacific Ocean off Laguna Beach. Cremation followed the donation of her remains to “The Gift of Life”. Lee spent the final months of her life in the nurturing environment of Laurel Lake Estates Assisted Living, 207 Laurel Road, Voorhees (behind the M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch Library) where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 9, 2009 at 4PM
