GLOUCESTER CITY POLICE BLOTTER
February 10 thru February 15
- 2/15/09: At 12:42 a.m. police received an anonymous tip that a male
who was wanted by City Police for Aggravated Assault was sitting atthe bar
at Oh! Hara's Pub on King St. Officers arrived and identified a male sitting at
the bar as Christopher Demunguia (age 35), no known address, who was wanted
on a $50,000 warrant for an Aggravated Assault
that occurred on 1/18/09. Ptl.. Little and Ptl. Wall approached themale to place him under arrest and the male attempted to assault Ptl. Little. The male then assaulted Ptl. Wall and a struggle ensued. A second male, Robert Daley (age 32) a resident of Oxford Ave. in Gloucester City then grabbed Ptl. Little in an attempt to prevent himfrom assisting Ptl. Wall. Both Demunguia and Daley were taken into custody in short order. A third male, Jeff Howey (age 28), a residentof the 300 blk. of Hunter St. attempted to interfere with the arrests as well and he was arrested by Ptl. Hopkins.
* Christopher Demunguia was charged with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Contempt. After being treated and released from Virtua Hospital he was remanded to Camden County Jail on $75,000 bail.
* Robert Daley was charged with Obstruction of
Justice and Resisting Arrest. He was later released.
* Jeff Howey was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. He was later released.
In other matters,
2/10/09: The owner of a vacant house in the 900 blk. of Little Hunter St. reports sometime during the past (3) weeks unknown person(s)broke into the house and removed copper pipes from the basement. Estimated cost of damage is $2,000. Investigation is being handled bythe Detective Bureau.
- 2/10/09: At 4:17 p.m. Ptl. Kraft conducted a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Hudson St. for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest totaling $577. Jason Collins (age 30), a resident of S. Burlington St. in Gloucester City was arrested for Contempt and later released on bail.
- 2/10/09: At 11:40 p.m. Ptl. Little arrested Karen Milloro (age 31), a resident of Barnaby Ave. in Gloucester City for Contempt at Broadway and Middlesex St. She was later released after posting $400 bail.
- 2/11/09: At 1:18 a.m. officers responded to a trailer in the Maple Terrace Trailer Park to meet with an assault victim. The victim told police two males who were guests in his home assaulted him, took his car keys and his car. The victim identified the two males; however, he did not want to sign any charges against them. The G.C.F.D. Ambulance did respond to treat the victim's injury, however, he refused treatment.
- 2/11/09: At 6:32 a.m. officers responded to the Dunkin Donuts on S. Broadway for a report of a suspicious male who walked behind thecounter and was intimidating employees and patrons. The male had left the store prior to police arrival. A description of the male wasbroadcast and a short time later Sgt. Wiltsey located the male on Broadway at Hunter St. While speaking with the officers, the maledropped a hypodermic syringe to the ground behind him. The male, Jean Donckers (age 40), a resident of Atlantic Ave. in Ocean City wasarrested for Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. Further investigation revealed he had outstanding warrants for his arrest totaling $839 and hewas a fugitive from Atlantic County for Escape. He was remanded to Camden County Jail without bail.
- 2/13/09: At 7:09 a.m. a representative from Barron Iron Works on Water St. reports sometime overnight unknown person(s) cut a holethrough the fence in the rear of the storage yard and entered the property. Found missing was (1000) feet of copper welding lead and thestorage compartments on one of the trucks in the yard were amaged.Estimated value of the copper is $2,000. Estimated cost of damage tothe fence and truck is $1,000. Investigation is being handled by the Detective Bureau.
- 2/13/09: A resident of the 800 blk. of Little Somerset St. reports (6) juvenile males threw eggs at his residence. Investigation to continue.
- 2/14/09: At 12:45 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 300 blk. of Somerset St. for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers encountered an intoxicated male who was holding a (6) d-cell flashlight and verbally abusing the officers. The male, while attempting to leave the residence, threatened Sgt. Moody and then slammed a door into him. Ptl. Hopkins then confronted the male and while attempting to place him under arrest the male swung the flashlight at him and hit the windshield of his patrol car. The windshield was smashed.
* Timothy Simons (age 21) , a resident of the 300 blk. of Somerset St. was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Mischief. He was later released on bail.
- 2/14/09: A resident of Berlin reports sometime between 2/11/09 and 2/14/09 unknown person(s) smashed the rear window of his vehicle that was parked in the 400 blk. of Monmouth St. 2/14/09: At 11:57 p.m. Ptl. Little conducted a motor vehicle stop on Monmouth St. at King St. for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed a passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for his arrest totaling $350. Anthony Stott (age 20), a resident of the 300 blk. of Bergen St. was arrested for Contempt. He was later released.
- 2/15/09: At 1:42 a.m. officers responded to the Essex Street Pub for a reported fight involving (7) males. Upon arrival there was no fight in progress, however, an assault victim was located. The victim identified the male who assaulted him, who had fled the area, and told the officers he wanted to sign a charge against him. At Police Headquarters the victim changed his mind and decided not to pursue the matter.
- 2/15/09: At 7:27 p.m. a resident of the 200 blk. of Morris St. reports several juveniles vandalized his vehicle and threatened him. Investigation to continue.
- 2/15/09: At 11:11 p.m. Ptl. Hopkins stopped a bicyclist on Broadway at King St. for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed the bicyclist had an outstanding warrant for his arrest totaling $550. Erich Smith (age 37), a resident of Glen Ave. in Turnersville was arrested for Contempt. Mr. Smith was searched and found to be in possession of (3) baggies of heroin. Mr. Smith was charged with Possession of CDS and later released on bail.
- 2/15/09: At 11:41 p.m. Ptl. Lessig conducted a motor vehicle stop in the Quality Inn parking lot on Rt. 130 South for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed the driver had outstanding warrants for his arrest totaling $1,200. Michael Scheegas (age 22), a resident of Dogwood Ave. in Gloucester City was arrested for Contempt and remanded to Camden County Jail in default of bail.
