Pennsville takes it to the Lions; GHS record 2-4
(Gloucester County Times)Pennsville capitalized early on two Gloucester fumbles on the Lions' first four plays. Senior kicker Howie Herrmann kicked a 34-yard field goal after the first turnover and Crawford scored his first touchdown of the day after the second fumble recovery.
Gloucester was able to answer back in the first quarter with a 38-yard
touchdown pass from Liam James to Brian Collins. James initially fumbled the ball on a double reverse, but recovered and hit a wide open Collins in the end zone. James finished the day with seven receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns, including the throw.
"It's hard to overcome two fumbles, but we certainly had more chances as the game went on," said Gloucester head coach Leon Harris. "Our mistakes and missed opportunities didn't help."
The Lions dropped to 2-4 overall with Saturday's loss.
